2008 SUMMER INSTITUTES

HPC 5535 - Expressive Arts w/ Children & Adolescents: This institute is designed to present a comprehensive and developmentally oriented approach for the application of play theories, techniques, and the creative/expressive arts  to the process of counseling children and adolescents. The course consists of class discussions, presentations, cooperative and group experiential learning activities, videos, and "hands on" type of activities/projects which students will prepare and present. Students will learn the techniques of play therapy, art, music, movement, creative dramatics, sand-play, bibliotherapy, and puppetry in both the school and agency setting.

HPC 5545 - Dreams, Art, & Nature: An exploration of the resonance between the outer landscape of the natural world and the inner landscape of the psyche, integrating expressive arts therapy, ecotherapy and dreamwork.  The course will include theoretical background in expressive arts therapy, ecotherapy and dreamwork as well as a variety of experiential group and individual art making activities, using dreams and nature.

We are offering continuing expressive arts therapy concentration and certificate students the opportunity to send one submission of work to be considered for publication in the online expressive arts therapy student artwork gallery, which is hosted on the ASU expressive arts website.

ORCHESIS 2008 Spring Glow Art Reception

The 2008 Spring Glow Reception will be held on May 9, 2008. This is the night before graduation so that it may serve as both a celebratory and honorary night for graduating seniors as well.
